Saskatchewan Housing Benefit (SHB)
This gives you money each month to help with rent and utilities if you rent in Saskatchewan and spend a large share of your income on housing. If you spend 35% to 45% of your income on shelter, you can get $175 to $275 a month based on family size. If you spend more than 45%, you can get $225 to $325 a month.

Renters who spend 35% or more of their annual before-tax household income on shelter (rent and utilities), have less than $300,000 in household assets, and have annual before-tax household income at or below: $43,100 (single/couple), $52,900 (single/couple with one dependant), $63,800 (single/couple with two or more dependants). Not eligible if you receive shelter support from another Government of Saskatchewan income-assistance or training program, rent from a housing authority under the Social Housing Program, are a sponsored newcomer to Canada, or are a full-time post-secondary student. Two additional streams exist: a Supportive Housing Stream and a Seeking Safety from Interpersonal Violence Stream.
