Housing Help

About

About this guide

Free, independent, and built so the housing help that already exists actually reaches the people who need it.

This is a free, independent guide to the rent supplements, benefits, grants, and community programs that help people afford housing in Canada. It is built for two audiences: tenants looking for help, and landlords looking for programs that let them offer affordable rent.

Every program marked as verified has been checked against an official government, municipal, or program source, and we show those sources on each program's page. Amounts and rules change often, so each program carries the date it was last verified and a reminder to confirm the current details on the official page before you apply.

We deliberately separate what we can confirm from what we are still looking into. Programs we cannot fully verify are kept out of the main results until they are confirmed.

Who's behind it

This guide is published by Mithulan Perinpanayagam, CPA, CA. It is provided as a public resource. It does not collect a fee, and it does not earn anything from the programs it lists.

This guide is published by Mithulan Perinpanayagam, CPA, CA, who also co-founds Foundation Capital, a private real-estate firm that operates rental housing. Foundation Capital does not set its rents based on anything on this site. This guide is information only — not financial, legal, tax, or benefits advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship. Always confirm current details with the program administrator through the official link before you rely on them.

How current it is

The catalog is reviewed and refreshed regularly against the official sources. If you spot something out of date, the official link on each program page is always the final word.
