PEI Seniors Housing Program

This gives PEI seniors a rental unit or a rent supplement to help with the cost of living. In a government-owned seniors unit you usually pay 25% of your household income for rent, with heat included. A rent supplement can instead help you pay for a private rental anywhere on PEI.

What you get

Up to $48,500

Who it's for

You qualify if you are 60 or older (or 55 or older if you live with a disability), live in PEI, and your income is below the yearly limits.

Good to know

Age rule (60+, or 55+ with a disability), the 25%-of-income tenant contribution, all five income thresholds, the April 24, 2026 effective date, and the four regional office phone numbers were confirmed verbatim against the official princeedwardisland.ca service page. Thresholds change over time; confirm current figures. A parallel Family Housing Program exists for non-senior households using the same 25%-of-income model.
