County of Lambton - Portable Housing Benefit

The Portable Housing Benefit is a monthly housing payment from the County of Lambton that follows you (it is not tied to one specific apartment). It helps cover the gap between local market rent and what you can afford. You must be eligible for housing help and keep your income tax filing up to date.

Worked out as (80% of Average Market Rent) minus (your Adjusted Family Net Income x 30%, divided by 12). Average Market Rent: 1-bedroom $1,400, 2-bedroom $1,600, 3-bedroom $1,800, 4-bedroom or larger $2,000.
