Chatham-Kent Housing Stability Program

This program pairs you with a Housing Stability Worker who helps you keep your home. The worker helps you set goals, remove roadblocks, and connect to services and benefits. It is mostly support and guidance, not a cash grant.

What you get

Monthly money toward your rent

Who it's for

You qualify if you live in Chatham-Kent, are 18 or older, are housed but struggling, and have a low income or get ODSP.

What to have ready

Documents they may ask for

  • Government ID for everyone in your household, if available
  • A copy of your lease or rent agreement
  • Recent rent receipt, ledger, or proof of what you owe
  • Recent pay stubs, benefit statement, or income proof
  • ODSP, Ontario Works, CPP, OAS, or other benefit statement if you have one
  • Recent bank statement, if the program asks for it

What to say when you call

Hi, I found your housing support program and I want to check if I can apply. Can you tell me the current rules, documents needed, and the next step?

If no one answers, leave your name and number slowly, then try 211 while you wait.

Can I get this?

You have a good chance if this sounds like you:

  • You qualify if you live in Chatham-Kent, are 18 or older, are housed but struggling, and have a low income or get ODSP
  • You must be willing to work with a Housing Stability Worker
  • If you are on Ontario Works, contact your Case Manager instead

What to do next

Check off each step as you go — we'll remember where you are.

Checkmarks are saved only on this device. We collect nothing.

The fine print

More details about the money

Not a set dollar amount. The program gives you a worker and connections to help, not a published cash benefit.

Amounts and eligibility change. Confirm the current figure with the program administrator through the official link before you rely on it.

The full eligibility rules

Chatham-Kent residents 18 or older who are currently housed but having trouble staying housed, and who are low-income or receiving ODSP. If you are on Ontario Works, contact your OW Case Manager instead.

Good to know

Confirmed on the municipality's own Housing Stability Program page. Page describes a Housing Stability Worker (not a published rent-bank dollar amount), so benefit_amount is left as not-specified. Intake email ckintake@chatham-kent.ca; mailing address, 5-to-7-day review, and 311/office hours all confirmed on the page. Out-of-area callers can reach the municipality at 519-360-1998.
