Good to know
HISTORICAL: one-time payment in April 2024, not a recurring or currently-open benefit. $430 amount, automatic qualification, and $12.3M federal funding confirmed on BC Gov News (2024HOUS0050). The SAME 2024 announcement also included a PERMANENT SAFER improvement (~$110/month average increase, raising the average subsidy to ~$310 at that time, and raising the SAFER income limit from $33,000 to $37,240). A SEPARATE, LATER round of improvements effective April 1, 2025 raised the SAFER income limit to $40,000 and the average subsidy to ~$337 — do not conflate the 2024 and 2025 SAFER changes.
